This is a demo site built with Stasio Sites. Not a real business.

Our Story

Three generations of building homes and trust.

In 1972, Dominic Ridge started doing odd jobs for neighbors in Jersey City — fixing porches, patching roofs, and hanging drywall on weekends. He didn't have a license or a company name. He had a station wagon, a toolbox, and a handshake that meant something.

By 1980, what started as side work had turned into a real business. Dom got his contractor's license, bought a truck with his name on the door, and started taking on full renovations. He was known for two things: showing up when he said he would, and never cutting corners — even when the client couldn't tell the difference.

Craftsmanship has always been at the center of what we do.

Second Generation

Building on the Foundation

Dom's son Mike grew up on job sites — sweeping sawdust after school, learning to read blueprints before he could drive. He went to trade school, worked under his father for a decade, and took over the business in 2008.

Mike modernized the operation — project management software, detailed written estimates, dedicated foremen for every job — but kept the culture intact. The crew still eats lunch together. They still clean the site every day before they leave. And they still treat every home like it's their own.

What We Believe

We believe a renovation should make your life better, not harder. That means honest pricing with no surprises. A written timeline you can count on. A foreman who answers the phone. And a finished product that looks even better than the rendering.

We're not the cheapest contractor in Hudson County, and we're not trying to be. We're the one your neighbor recommends. The one your sister used. The one who's still in business eighteen years later because the work speaks for itself.

If you're thinking about a project, give us a call. No pressure, no sales pitch — just an honest conversation about what's possible.

Today, Ridge Built employs twelve full-time tradespeople and handles everything from kitchen renovations to ground-up additions. We serve Jersey City, Hoboken, Bayonne, Weehawken, and the surrounding communities.

Dom still stops by the office on Fridays. He doesn't swing a hammer anymore, but he checks every final walkthrough. Some things don't change.
